Elva J. Eirich, 87 of Philipsburg, passed away on Feb. 7, 2011 at her residence.
Born Oct. 11, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Garfield and Elizabeth Gardner.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Philipsburg and she was employed at the General Cigar Plant in Philipsburg until retiring.
She wed Carl R. Eirich Sr., who survives at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Carl. R. Eirich Jr.; grandson Richard M. (Beeder) Quigley; brothers Asher, George, Irvin and Leonard Gardner; and sisters Edith Bock and Mary Quick.
She is survived by her husband; daughter Carol Quick and her companion Dave Crichton of Philipsburg; grandsons Robert (Bubba) Quigley of Munson, Timothy A. Eirich of Coudersport and Kevin Eirich and his wife Melissa of Boca Raton, FL; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her generation.
Services will be held on Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Timothy D. Richmond officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Feb. 11 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
