CLEARFIELD/DUBOIS – Two public meetings are planned regarding the 814/582 area code issue.
The first is on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Clearfield County Courthouse, courtroom 2. The Clearfield County Commissioners are inviting the public to attend and offer their opinions on the matter.
The second meeting is planned for Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the DuBois Best Western to receive comments about the proposed actions regarding the change of part of the 814 area code.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for the public to express their views about the proposed Public Utility Commission (PUC) changes-especially with regard to creating a new area code -582- in northwestern PA including the communities of DuBois, Sandy, and Falls Creek areas of Clearfield County. This meeting is being hosted by Taxpayers United for Representation NOW (TURN) and the Greater DuBois Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development to provide the public a forum for expressing their comments, pro and con.
