Shirley L. (McLaughlin) Maines, 68, of Philipsburg died Friday at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born on Oct. 25, 1942, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Ethel T. (Turner) McLaughlin. She was Protestant by faith.
She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards and board games. Her favorite was to spend time with her family.
She’s survived by one son, Duane McLaughlin and his wife, Cindy of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Tabatha McLaughlin of Clearfield and Heather Cartwright and her husband, Robert of Clearfield; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Black and Madison Birchem; and her companion of 27 years, Patrick Gray of Philipsburg.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Haney and her husband, Theodore, Annie Dixon and Doreen Dixon and two brothers, Fred McLaughlin and his wife, Edna and Richard McLaughlin and his wife, Rose Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Millie Spingola; and four nephews, David Spingola, Steve Dixon, Vaughn McLaughlin and Terry McLaughlin.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Mellgard and Mr. Richard Barclay officiating. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery.
