Obituary Notice: Margaret R. Livingstone

Margaret Ruth Livingstone,  99, of Clearfield, formerly of Woodland, died on Jan. 25, 2011 at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville. 

She was born on Jan. 4, 1912 in Woodland, a daughter of the late Samuel and Louise  (Learish) Livingstone. 

Miss Livingstone retired in 1977 from McGregor Sportswear, Clearfield and also worked at Clearfield Sportswear with a total of forty six years between the two factories.  After retirement, she worked at the Ritz Theater, Clearfield. 

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield where she was part of the Care and Concern Committee.  She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #498, the Golden Bison Association, the American Association of Retired Persons, the National Council of Senior Citizens and the Retired Senior and Volunteer Program, Clearfield.  She also was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Organization of Retirees (ACTOR).

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death four brothers John, Samuel, William and Ross, and seven sisters, Amy, Alice, Bernice, Velma, Ellen, Jeannette and Ella.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant.  Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9-9:30 a.m.

At the funeral home on Friday, the Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. and a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 5:45 p.m.

The family suggests that  memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 777 Penn Center Boulevard, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
