John R. “Jick” Brown, 89, of Clearfield, PA passed away on Jan. 25, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital, Clearfield.
Mr. Brown was born Feb. 19, 1921 in Clearfield, PA, the son of John H. and Anna B. (Shimmel) Brown.
He was retired from Sani-Dairy as an equipment repair person and also for delivered milk for the former Miller Dairy.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Bible Tabernacle Church of Mineral Springs.
He served in the United States Army in the Dixie Division during World War II.
He is survived by four children; John J. Brown and his wife Dot of West Decatur, James L. Brown and his wife Joan of West Decatur, Carol Mease and her husband Mel of Clearfield, Sandy Ferrari and her husband Denny of Clearfield, nine grandchildren; Lori Bumbarger, James E. Brown, Mark A. Brown, Tonya S. Moore, Jeff Mease, Jennifer Mease-Gisewhite, Marisa Rothrock, Nicole Maines, Theresa Luzier, twenty eight great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter,a brother, James Brown and a sister, Annabell Brown both of Clearfield.
Mr. Brown was preceded in dead by his parents, his wife, Bessie A. “Molly” (Pry)Brown whom he married December 31, 1941 in Clearfield, and who died on Oct. 31, 2008, three grandchildren; John L. Brown, Timmy Brown, Ryan E. Mease, three brothers; Hershel “Abe” Brown, Kenneth Brown, Leon Brown, Carl brown and a sister Norma Hummell.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Jan. 28 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Rev. Kenneth Pry officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Jan. 27 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the services.
