Police Report: Lawrence Township

– Police received a report of a gas drive-off at Sapp Brothers.  The suspect vehicle is a green Dodge Ram Truck.  Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

– Police were called to Coal Hill Road for a reported vehicle accident with an entrapment.  When officers arrived, they determined that David Cole of Clearfield lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered roadway. His vehicle then crossed the center line and into the path of Brenda Larock of Clearfield. 

Cole struck the guiderails and Larock head-on. Larock was transported to the Clearfield Hospital for medical treatment.  Officers were assisted by the Lawrence Township Fire Department.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

– Police reported that a Falls Creek resident lost a money clip at the Clearfield Mall.

– Police investigated an accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon.  An Allport resident was slowing down for a traffic signal at the intersection of River Road and state Route 879, when a coal truck driven by a Mineral Springs resident struck the car from behind.  There were no injuries reported.

– Police were called to a motor vehicle accident on state Route 1001 (Old Town Road).  Dorothy McBride of Clearfield was pulling out of a business parking lot and making a left-hand turn, when she was struck head-on.  Lisa McGary of Curwensville was traveling east in the left-hand lane, when she failed to see the McBride vehicle pull out.  Sharon Trythall of Curwensville was traveling in the westbound lane, slowed down and stopped in order to yield for oncoming traffic, when her vehicle was struck in the right passenger’s side by McGary. 

A witness to the accident reported that they were stopped in the right-hand, eastbound lane, waiting for McBride to pull out and turn left, when McGary approached in the left-hand lane and collided with the McBride and Trythall vehicles.  McBride and McGary were transported to the Clearfield Hospital.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Ross Towing.

–  Police received a report of a two-vehicle accident on Supercenter Drive.  No injuries and minor damage was reported.

– Police are investigating a hit-and-run that took place at McDonald’s on Route 879 and Interstate 80. Police have obtained credit card information and are in the process of determining the driver’s identity.  Charges are pending.

– Police were dispatched to a disabled vehicle that was causing a traffic hazard. The vehicle was started and driven from the scene.

– Police responded to an automatic alarm at Lock Haven University.  Police checked both building and found that everything was in order.

– Police received a call over child custody issues.  Police were able to resolve the issues between the parties involved.

– Police handled an incident of disorderly conduct in which an out of the area man allegedly threatened a local resident over the phone.  Police were able to resolve the dispute.

– Police received a report of theft from a motor vehicle.  A man from out of the area had $250 stolen from his vehicle at a local motel.  The money was recovered and the man declined to press charges.

– Police assisted a motorist who had run out of gas.
