HIV, STD Prevention Program Set for LHU

LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven University will host a program on HIV and STD prevention and risk reduction with a focus on sexual assault. The program will be held from 8 – 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2 in Raub 305. The presentation is sponsored by LHU’s Gay/Straight Alliance (GSA) and Campus Violence Prevention Program (CVPP).

The presenter is scheduled to be Pattti Smith from the AIDs Project located at 8 North Grove St., Lock Haven. The AIDS project offers services, such as prevention education, direct client care, risk reduction counseling and HIV testing.

GSA President Alicia Perrelli said, “It’s important for college students to be educated on these issues because it’s the first step to prevention. GSA and the CVPP are happy to have Ms. Smith and the AIDS Project as a resource.”
