Gustave A. “Gus” Larson, 76, of Hyde, PA passed away Jan. 20, 2011 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville, PA.
Born on Jan. 6, 1935 in Hyde, PA was the son of the late Lawrence E. and Mary M. (Shubert) Larson. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, the late Adam and Mary Shubert of Glen Richey.
Mr. Larson worked for 17 years at Piper Aircraft and was the owner and operator of the “Family Shoe Repair” of Hyde. He had retired as the cobbler in July 2010 after 19 years of service.
He was a Christian.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette G.”Jenny” (Hugar) Larson whom he married on June 12, 1982, at Karthaus, PA; three children: Lawrence H. Larson and his wife Ingrid of El Paso, TX, Timothy A. Larson and his wife Rosemary of Curwensville, Michael Andren Larson and his wife Ashley of La Jose; three brothers: John H. Larson and his wife Sandra of St. Louis, Missouri, Allen F. Larson and his wife Barbara of Blythe, Georgia, Joseph Larson-Mogle of Wyoming, Delaware, a sister; Mary K. Gurbal of Grassflat, PA.
Mr. Larson is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, a brother, Lawrence E. “Blacky” Larson, and a sister, Sonja K. Rhoades.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Jan. 25 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield, PA with Rev. Scott Schultz officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Jan. 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the services.
