Bernard D. Slother, 77, of Munson died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
Born January 18, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Julia Slother.
He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Philipsburg.
Mr. Slother was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a 1950 graduate of the Philipsburg High School and worked as a veterinary assistant at Herring Veterinary Service of Clearfield and was also self-employed as a carpenter.
On March 19, 1955 he wed the former Betty Jean Gonder, who survives at home.
Also surviving is a daughter, Cynthia A. Herring and her husband Dr. Ronald K. of Clearfield; one son, David L. Slother of Kersey; three brothers, Michael J. Slother and his wife Shirley of Philipsburg, Thomas E. Slother of South America, Theodore A. Slother of Pleasantville; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Peter, John, Edward, Albert and an infant brother, Steven; four sisters, Alice Archer, Frances Webb, Agnes Dixon and an infant sister, Mildred Slother.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Interment will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
