CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Police Department is warning residents to be aware of a recent scam attempt.
Accoring to the police department, they received a complaint from a resident who has been receiving phone calls from an out-of-country caller. Officers identified the area code and determined that the calls were from a man attempting to defraud the resident.
Police would like to warn all residents that if they receive calls from the 876 area code to please use caution. These men from Jamaica are attempting to obtain personal information. Residents should report suspicious activity by contacting their local law enforcement service.
