Joann Rancik, 81, of Grampian, died Saturday at the DuBois Regional Medical Center, West.
Born Dec. 18, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Etoil (Russell) Bonsall. She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Grampian and also a member of the WSCS of the church.
She was a 1948 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School. After graduation, she was employed first by the prothonotary office in the Clearfield County Courthouse for two years.
Mrs. Rancik then was employed by Sears Catalogue from 1968 through 1973. From 1974 until her retirement in 1997, she was the manager of The Progress office in Curwensville.
On May 10, 1950 in Grampian, she wed Thomas E. Rancik, who survives along with one daughter, Terry Eileen Gill and her husband Ed, of Camp Hill.
Also surviving are two granddaughters, Karen Marie Gilbert and her husband, Ben of Mechanicsburg and Kathleen Ann Gill of Camp Hill; two great-grandsons, Kevin Lee and Aydan Joshua Gilbert of Mechanicsburg and one brother, Gary Bonsall of Grampian.
Mrs. Rancik was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Bonsall; two infant brothers; and one infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Emmett Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 12 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
