Obituary Notice: Homer L. Muth

Homer L. Muth, age 90, of Kilmer Road in DuBois, PA died Jan. 4, 2011 at his residence. 

He was born on Aug. 21, 1920 in Troutville, PA.  He was the son of Amos and Flora L. (London) Muth. 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II.

On Oct. 3, 1946, he married Gertrude “Mae” (Bish) Muth.  She survives.

He retired from the DuBois Area School District as a custodian after 10 years of service.  Previous to that, he worked at the Maple Ave. Hospital in DuBois, PA. 

He was a Light & Life Free Methodist Church member in DuBois where he was a past trustee and active in many church activities.  He was a member of the DuBois Area School Retirees.  He enjoyed hunting and was a member of Dad’s Horseshoe Club. 

He is survived by two daughters, Shirley M. Patton and her husband, Darrell and Patricia L. Muth both of DuBois, PA, two brothers, Blair Muth of Erie, PA and Harold Muth of Troutville, PA, two grandchildren, Darrell Patton, Jr. & Jonathan Patton, and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Amy Marshall and Martha Kilmer and four brothers, Emerson, Ernie, Camden, and Robert Muth, Sr.

Visitation will be on Jan. 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois.

A funeral service will be held on Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. from the Light & Life Free Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Lutcher officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.

Burial will be in Boone Mountain Cemetery
