Kiwanis Trail Water Project Over Halfway Mark

(GantDaily Graphic)

DUBOIS – According to Sandy Township Manager Dick Castonguay, the West Sandy Kiwanis Trail water project is about 60 percent completed.  The lack of snow this season has helped the project keep its momentum.  Work on the water tower continues, and the only expected slowdown that may occur would come from the pump station project.

The project has been in the works for roughly four years.

During the board’s reorganization, Brady LaBorde was reaffirmed as the Cchairman.  Jim Jeffers is the vice-chairman.  Barbara Miller will remain the secretary/treasurer with Shelly Reasinger as the assistant.  Perry Bowser is to remain the township engineer.

Central Tax will remain the township’s tax collector for 2011.  Both the Earned Income Tax and Local Service Tax are 1.5 percent for the coming year.  The County Tax Collection Committee will pick the tax collector for the entirety of the county.
