CLEARFIELD – State Farm Insurance Agent Rob Bozovich, Public Affairs Specialist Jennifer Horning, and Agency Field Executive Keith Folmar presented a $2,000 State Farm Good Neighbor Citizenship grant to the Clearfield Revitalization Corporation. Accepting this grant was CRC Design Committee Chairman Katie Miknis, Peggy Durant and Main Street Manager Kellie Truman.

The grant will be used towards the purchase of black, rod iron Victorian park benches that will be placed along the side of the Clearfield County Courthouse, centered between the lamp posts facing Market Street.

Miknis said, “The benches will not only coordinate with the decorative lighting and other details in downtown, but will enhance pedestrian orientation creating a cohesive atmosphere as part of downtown’s Walkability Plan, which was stressed through the in the 2009 Mullin and Lonergan study of the Clearfield Borough.”

Miknis continued, “The benches will be purchased locally from TD Fabrications and Welding and will improve pedestrian safety, increase foot traffic critical for downtown businesses, encourage interaction in public places, will add vibrancy to the downtown, and will overall increase economic productivity directly linked to walkability. This development of a walkable community focuses on preserving the community’s character, protecting the local environment, and fostering a mutually supportive mix of retail, professional and residential uses. In turn, they are supported by pedestrian related amenities such as street furniture, public spaces and other improvements designed to attract people.”

Truman stated, “The CRC is grateful of State Farm’s generosity and support with our project. We are also appreciative to have State Farm Agent Rob Bozovich involved with the CRC as a volunteer, chairing the promotion committee. Together, the CRC and State Farm will continue to improve downtown Clearfield.”

State Farm Agent and CRC Promotions Committee Chairman, Rob Bozovich said, “The Clearfield Revitalization Corporation’s ‘Walkability Project’ will make such a remarkable difference to our town. I am delighted to have the opportunity to present this $2,000 State Farm Good Neighbor Citizenship grant to continue our efforts to make Clearfield a place people want to visit and live.”
