DUBOIS – A Michigan man who was not identified by police was arrested following a traffic violation, which revealed counterfeit money, Wednesday morning on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.
According to the DuBois-based state police, troopers obtained consent to search the vehicle, while its occupants were reportedly found to be “extremely nervous. Signs of criminal activity were also observed, police said.
Police reported that a male passenger was subsequently searched and $500 in counterfeit money was found in his shoe.
The investigation is ongoing at this time and pending contact with the U.S. Secret Service.
