Carl J. Myers Jr., 81 of Hollidaysburg Veterans Home and formerly of Osceola Mills and Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Dec. 21, 2010 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, Hollidaysburg.
Born January 30, 1929 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Carl J. & Sarah M. (Williams) Myers Sr.
He is survived by:
Three brothers and two sisters
Harry John Myers of Osceola Mills
Shirley Dobo of Hawk Run
Charles E. Myers of Philipsburg
Jane Arnold and her husband Fred of Osceola Mills
George H. Myers and his wife Marcie of Philipsburg
And several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Dorothy Maurer, Sally Sallurday, and Joyce Hayward.
He was of the Protestant Faith.
He worked at Great Lakes in Niagara Falls, NY until his retirement.
He was a veteran of the US army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the VFW Louis P. Jenkins Post 3450, Philipsburg.
Funeral Services will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg, on Dec. 27 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Susan Arnold officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard. Burial will be at Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Dec. 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
