New Signals to be in Test Mode on Atherton Street Week of Dec. 20

CLEARFIELD – Motorists travelling on Route 3014 (Atherton Street) in State College, will find the new signals along the corridor in test mode at various times the week of Dec. 20.

Motorists will notice that each signal along Atherton Street will be flashing at some point during the week. The flash mode for each signal will last for about 15 minutes. Drivers should use caution when travelling through a flashing yellow/red intersection.

The work on Atherton is part of a $1.4 million project to link 17 traffic signals in Patton, Ferguson and College townships and State College Borough. In addition to connecting signals and installing signs, there will be other components to monitor traffic flow.

Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up. PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions before heading out.
