The recent bloodmobile sponsored by the Clearfield Woman’s Club was deemed successful according to blood drive chairman Flo Lutz.
“Forty-two donors presented, and thirty-three units were collected,” said Lutz. “This means that ninety-nine patients will be helped by the donations, since each unit of blood serves three people.” Nine donors were deferred.
Grice Gun Shop donated a $100 gift certificate, and the Clearfield/Jefferson Chapter of the American Red Cross made a matching donation of 4, $25 gift certificates. In the local drawing, winners were: Ralph Haines, $100; Linda Greslick, $25; Steven Terry, $25; Jeanne Urban, $25; and Brent Welker, $25. For giving the gift of life, all presenting donors were also entered into drawings for numerous prizes, including an autographed Dirks Bentley cowboy hat, and Bon Jovi tickets for a February.
Shown at the canteen are Flo Lutz, Michele Fannin, Betsy Long, Mary Zitzelberger and Linnie Potter.
