DUBOIS – Last week Gov.-Elect Tom Corbett announced that C. Alan Walker of Bigler would be head of the Department of Community and Economic Development under his administration. During the Clearfield County Economic Development Corporation’s annual luncheon, Walker addressed the EDC membership.
“I have a great fondness for the people of this area,” said Walker. He said he has always been committed to make the lives better for the people of Clearfield County.
He said Pennsylvania’s economy was “incredible” when factoring in the workforce, workforce development, energy and energy development.
He stated that royalties from Marcellus Shale to the private sector are estimated, over 30 years, to be around $16 billion. He indicated that the real challenge will be how to invest that money to build a better economy.
“Our best days are ahead of us,” said Walker. ” I want to be a part of it.”
