DUBOIS – A dedication ceremony was held Wednesday for the Hospital Avenue Project in DuBois. PennDOT, in cooperation with the DuBois Regional Medical Center, held the dedication to mark the completion of the $4.2 million project.

Kevin Kline, district executive of PennDOT District 2 and Scott Foradora, chairman of the DuBois Regional Medical Center board of directors, cut the ribbon to recognize the completion of the project. Local and regional legislators and other dignitaries were also in attendance.

“The completion was a long-time coming,” said Kline. “We extend thanks to all participants involved.

He continued, noting that the project greatly improves access to the hospital, but also safety for other motorists using the roadway.

“The project started 10 years ago under former Congressman John Peterson,” said Foradora.

State Rep. Matt Gabler said the project was “needed and necessary.”

“This is just such a great and valuable improvement.”

City of DuBois Mayor Gary Gilbert called it a job well done.

The overall project re-aligned Hospital Avenue with Dixon Avenue. Work included roadway widening, new traffic signals, and improved access to DRMC. SET, Inc. of Lowellville, Ohio, has been the contractor on the project.

PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions before heading out.
