CNB Bank Announces Promotions for Dixon, Johnson, Johnston and Smeal

 

Clearfield – Joseph B. Bower, Jr., President and CEO of CNB Bank, announced the promotions of Gregory M. Dixon, CPA, to the position of Vice President of Credit Administration; Eric A. Johnson to the position of Trust Officer; Cory Johnston to the position of Credit Administration Officer; and Carolyn Buzzanca Smeal to the position of Assistant Vice President of Operations. 

Mr. Dixon manages the Credit Administration Department of the Bank.  He applies his expertise as Vice President/Credit Administration by reviewing financial statements for commercial loans, assisting loan officers in the preparation of loan requests, underwriting commercial loan packages, and in reviewing appraisals for approval.  In this capacity, Mr. Dixon and his staff support lenders from twenty-seven CNB and ERIEBANK branch offices in an eight county region. 

A native of Clearfield, Mr. Dixon joined CNB in 2003 after attaining his license as a certified public accountant.  Greg graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1995 prior to receiving his B.S in Accounting from Indiana University of PA in 1999.  

During his career with CNB, Mr. Dixon continues to expand his education in the field of banking.  In April, 2009, he was recognized for achieving honor student status from the PBA School of Commercial Lending at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PBA).  Honor students are selected based on their outstanding work during school and on a post-class examination.  

Greg resides in Clearfield with his wife, Valerie, and their son, Luke.  He is a member of and Eucharistic Minister for the St. Francis of Assisi Church of Clearfield and serves on the Board of Directors for the Clearfield Municipal Authority. 

Eric Johnson joined CNB in 2004 to participate in the Bank’s Management Training program after attaining his B.S. in Economics from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA.  He completed this intensive training program in 2005.  Immediately thereafter, Mr. Johnson obtained a position in the Bank’s Wealth & Asset Management Services division as Trust Administrator where he worked closely with the team of professionals in the preparation and execution of wealth and asset management services for the Bank’s eight county market area.  

In December, 2009, while employed at CNB, Mr. Johnson attained his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Saint Francis University.  He is currently attending Cannon Trust School, a three-year comprehensive program, in Myrtle Beach, SC. 

As Trust Officer, Mr. Johnson’s primary responsibilities include wealth and asset management, trust administration, business development, estate planning and administration.   Eric is the Curwensville High School Assistant Varsity Basketball coach and volunteers for the annual King of the Mountain Bike Race to raise funds for the local Habitat for Humanity. 

A native of Clearfield, Eric currently resides in Curwensville with his wife, Tracy, and their children, Maci and Broc Heitsenrether, and Tucker Johnson.  He graduated in 2000 from Clearfield Area High School and is a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Clearfield, where he also serves on the Finance Committee. 

As Credit Administration Officer at the Main Office in downtown, Clearfield, Cory Johnston will continue applying his expertise in credit analysis by reviewing financial statements for commercial loans, analyzing financial statements, assisting loan officers in preparation for new loan requests and appraisals for approval.  In this capacity, Mr. Johnston will support lenders from all twenty-seven branch offices.  

Prior to joining CNB in 2006, Mr. Johnston was employed as a Staff Accountant with Sharkey Piccirillo Keen & Hanzely, LLP, an accounting firm located in Dubois, PA.  

A native of Curwensville, Cory graduated from Curwensville Area High School in 2000 before attaining his B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Gannon University in 2003.   

Cory currently resides in Clearfield with his wife, Devon, and volunteers his time at Scarlet Cord Teen Center in Brookville, PA. 

As Assistant Vice President of Operations, Carolyn Buzzanca Smeal is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the bank’s Deposit Operations department and the Customer Service Center, researching and developing new deposit products and services; and implementing the most effective processes and procedures therein.  She is also responsible for numerous subsystems instrumental in the Bank’s operations.  

Within her 35 years at CNB, Mrs. Smeal has maintained her concentration in the deposit operations division and systems management, and has made many significant contributions to the Bank.  She plays a critical role on numerous task forces and committees.  Past positions she has held at the Bank include eBanking Administrator, Data Processing Coordinator and Deposit Operations Administrative Assistant.  In 2004, she was promoted to Operations Officer. 

During her career with CNB, Mrs. Smeal continued to expand her education in the field of banking by taking various general and specialized banking courses from the Pennsylvania Banker’s Association/Professional Development Network and has attended numerous seminars and conferences over the years. 

A native of Clearfield, Mrs. Smeal graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1973.  She and her husband, Darrell, currently reside in Clearfield and have two children: Tiffany Shoffner, who resides in Philadelphia, and Adam Smeal, who resides in Pittsburgh.  Mrs. Smeal is a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church.
