State Police Promotes Michael Troxell to Lieutenant

HARRISBURG – State Police Commissioner Frank E. Pawlowski has promoted Michael L. Troxell of Curwensville, Clearfield County, to lieutenant and assigned him to the State Police Department Discipline Office in Harrisburg.

Troxell, 44, most recently served in the Systems and Process Review Division of the State Police Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards. He was based in Hollidaysburg.

A native of Irvona, Troxell enlisted in the state police in 1988. Following his training at the state police academy in Hershey, he was assigned to, Troop G, Rockview.

As he progressed through the ranks, Troxell also served at stations in Philipsburg, Ridgway and Clearfield and with the Bureau of Research and Development. He was promoted to corporal in 1993 and to sergeant in 2000.

Troxell served in the U.S. Army from 1985 – 1988 and is a 2009 graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.

Troxell is married to the former Rhonda Gallaher, a native of Irvona. They have three children, Megan, 20; Paden, 17; and Jordan, 15.
