Animal Welfare Council to Offer Free Pet Food

The Animal Welfare Council of the Alleghenies has worked with the Pets Come First rescue group of Lemont. The two groups coordinated a large donation of both dry and canned dog food from Del’monte Foods.

Over 14,000 pounds of pet food has been distributed to local Pet Food Pantries in Centre, Mifflin and Juniata counties, and the balance of food will be available in Clearfield County for distribution.

To obtain the food any interested individuals should contact the local food banks in the Clearfield, Curwensville, Houtzdale, Osceola Mills, Glendale and West Branch areas. There, persons will receive a voucher for the pet food.

With the voucher, the food can then be picked up at the Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic that’s located at 1937 Daisy Street Extension in Clearfield.  The clinic is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
