Elaine L. Caramela, 90, of East Park Avenue died peacefully Saturday at her home.
Born on Feb. 15, 1920 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Kohler and Dorothy (Fullerton) Kohler. She was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the DuBois Country Club and the Women’s Nautilus Club.
Mrs. Caramela enjoyed bowling at the Elks, dancing with her husband, playing bridge, reading and spending time with her family. Her family will remember her as a woman of faith, grace, courage and strength.
She married William Caramela on April 5, 1937. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1991. They were happily married for 54 years.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James “Bud” Kohler and Paul Kohler.
Mrs. Caramela is survived by four daughters, Carolee Hlay and her husband, Martin of Bethlehem; Dianne Campanini and her husband, Paul of Howard; Billie Frantz and her husband, Clarence of Williamson, NY; and Kim Miller and her husband, John of Cranberry Township.
Also surviving her are 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one sister, Jean Hendricks of DuBois.
Visitation will be held from 12 – 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, DuBois. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Pastor Raymond Beal and Pastor’s Assistant Edward Reich co-officiating.
Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
