- State Police in Ridgway are investigating a structure fire on Ridge Road, Fox Townshp, Elk County on Monday at 12:10 pm. The fire destroyed the single story wood frame residence valued at $90,000.00. The victims were not home at the time of the fire. The residence was un-insured. The victims are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire has not been determined
- Police investigated a fatal accident that occured on Ogrin Road, near SR948, in Highland Township, Elk Co. on Sunday at 3:00pm. A 32 year old male from Kane was traveling on Ogdrin Road when he lost control of his vehicle. He traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle rolled over several times coming to rest on its roof. The operator was ejected from the vehicle. Police noted he was not wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was severely damaged. The cause of the crash was determined to be “Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.”
- Police are investigating a Burglary that occured on Hickory Road, Highland Twp., Elk County. The seasonal residence was enter between April and November. The suspect(s) kicked in the door and caused damage to lights and a television set. Nothing was reported stolen. Amount of damage was listed as $100.00.
- Police are investigating the theft from a motor vehicle parked at Metaldyne Sintered Components in Ridgeway Township, Elk Co.between Sunday and Monday. While the owner was at work, unknown actors siphoned gas from his vehicle.
- Police are investigating a hit and run accident on Bennetts Valley Highway, Village of Scattertown, Jay Township between Sunday and Monday. A vehicle pulled into a dirt pull-off and struck another parked vehicle and fled the scene without stopping. There was minor damage to the victim’s vehicle.
- Police are investigating a two vehicle accident that occured on SR0255 and SR0948 Monday. A vehicle operated by a Kersey female made a left turn from SR0255 onto SR948 into the path of a vehicle being operated by a female from Penfield. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. The Kersey female was transported by Fox Township EMS to Elk County Regional Health Center. Fox Township Fire Department assisted at the scene. Police indicated the Kersey female will be cited for a traffic violation.
