Born March 16, 1956 he was the son of Dorothy V. Fenton of Philipsburg and the late Raymond L. Fenton.
He was a 1974 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School and a 1976 graduate of the Penn State University where he received a degree in Forestry. He worked as a welder at Lee Industries, Philipsburg, prior to entering the Pennsylvania Police Academy. He entered the Police Academy on April 16, 1984 and graduated September 7, 1984. He was briefly station at Milton and Shippenville. From January 16, 1986 to April 3, 2009, he was a Pennsylvania State Police Tropper First Class at the Clearfield/Woodland Barracks. He retired after 25 years of service. He was currently a security guard at Treasure Lake.
Mr. Fenton also attended the First Baptist Church in Philipsburg where he was a past trustee and he was a member of the Quigley Springs Hunting Camp.
He is survived by a son, Miles Lynn Fenton of Philipsburg;a brother Douglas K. Fenton and his wife Nancy.
Friends will be received at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 8 pm.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 214 E. Beaver St., Philipsburg on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ted Seibert and Rev. Richard Gay officiating.
Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery with an honorary service conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police.
