- Police reported an incident of theft that occurred sometime between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 30 at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on South Fourth Street in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. A person(s) reportedly stole several votive candles from church’s alter. Police currently have a suspect; the investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police reported a single-vehicle accident at 11:30 a.m. Thursday on state Route 504 near Black Bear Run in Rush Township, Centre County. Stanley B. Duffield Jr., 45, of North Bend was traveling east on SR 504. He attempted to negotiate a right curve at a speed that was reportedly too fast for road conditions. He lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway; his truck overturned onto its left side. His truck subsequently spilled out its cargo of rocks on the berm of the roadway. Police were assisted at the scene by the Philipsburg Volunteer Fire Department and PennDOT.
