PHILIPSBURG – The state police in Philipsburg have reported the statistics for a crash reduction effort in the month of October.
During that month, PSP Philipsburg investigated 28 motor vehicle accidents. Of those accidents, the main causes were driving too fast for road conditions and inattentive driving. Drivers are reminded that they need to follow a safe distance behind the vehicle in front of them.
According to police, distractions such as cell phones should not be used while the vehicle is moving. If a call or text message is received while driving, the safest thing to do is pull over to take the call.
Police would also like to remind motorists that wearing your seat belt is the law in Pennsylvania. Police stated that it has been proven that seat belts save lives.
