Penn State-Ohio State clash set for 3:30 p.m. kick

University Park, Pa. — Penn State’s Big Ten clash at No. 8 Ohio State on Saturday, Nov. 13, has been set for a 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time kick in Ohio Stadium. The ABC regional telecast will air nationally on ESPN outside of the ABC coverage area.

The always highly-anticipated conference clash also will air on the Penn State Sports Network and http://www.GoPSUsports.com online.

The contest is the Nittany Lions’ 10th announced start time for this season and eighth on an ESPN network.

Penn State has made three appearances on ESPN, two on ESPN2 and the Big Ten Network and one on ESPNU this season. The Nittany Lions thumped Michigan, 41-31, Saturday in Beaver Stadium in Penn State’s third ESPN primetime telecast this season.

This Saturday’s home game with Northwestern (6-2, 2-2) also is an ABC regional telecast at 3:30 p.m., airing nationally on ESPN2 outside the ABC coverage area. Coach Joe Paterno will have his first opportunity to become just the third coach in NCAA history to win 400 games when the Nittany Lions host the Wildcats.

Penn State will make at least one more appearance this season on the Big Ten Network during the final two games, vs. Indiana (Nov. 20, at FedExField) or on Senior Day vs. Michigan State (Nov. 27) in Beaver Stadium.

Ohio State took a 13-12 edge in the series with Penn State by winning last year in Beaver Stadium. Two years ago, the Nittany Lions posted a huge 13-6 win in Columbus. The border rivals have met every year since Penn State began Big Ten competition in 1993.

Ohio State (8-1, 4-1) is idle this week after winning at Minnesota last Saturday.

The Nittany Lions and Buckeyes will be in the same Big Ten division starting next year. With the new scheduling rotation as Nebraska joins the conference, Penn State will travel to Ohio State on Nov. 19, 2011.

Penn State has appeared on TV in 198 of its last 200 games. Future Penn State contests may be selected by the networks under the six and 12-day provisions of their contracts with the Big Ten Conference.
