KARTHAUS – A fire that damaged a truck and baby formula was ruled an accident.
That ruling, issued by the state police fire marshal, indicated that police and the Karthaus Fire Department investigated the fire, which occurred on Oct. 26 on Market Street. The investigation revealed that the fire began in the engine compartment/firewall area of a 2000 Kenworth Aerocab tractor with a 2005 box trailer. The trailer had a full load of Similac baby formula.
The fire spread from the cab to the refrigerated box trailer, severely damaging the trailer and its contents.
