Akron, OH Man Arrested for Drug Possession in I-80 Stop

COOPER TOWNSHIP – A 31-year-old Akron, OH man was arrested following a traffic stop Tuesday morning, which yielded drugs and thousands of dollars in United States Currency on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 133 in Cooper Township, the Clearfield State Police reported.

According to the incident report, Christopher David Stanley, 31, of Akron, OH was stopped for a traffic violation on I-80. At the conclusion of the stop, police requested and obtained the consent to search his vehicle due to suspicion of criminal activity.

Police said that they recovered four pounds of marijuana from the trunk of the vehicle. Stanley was arrested as a result. At the Clearfield barracks, police conducted an additional search of the vehicle, which revealed $4,035.

Stanley was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rudella of Kylertown. His bail was set at $50,000. His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 3.
