Two Blood Drives Slated in DuBois

DUBOIS – The Dubois Chapter of the American Red Cross has announced the dates and times for two upcoming blood drives.

A blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Wednesday at Penn State University’s DuBois campus. The event is a Thon-sponsored blood drive. The Red Cross will donate $4 to the Four Diamonds Fund for every person who is present to donate blood.

The DuBois YMCA will sponsor a blood drive from 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Their blood drive is to be held in conjunction with the YMCA’s Fall Wellness event.

To give blood, a person must be at least 17 years old. However, some states, including Pennsylvania, permit those who are 16 years old to donate blood with parental permission; a weight of at least 110 pounds; and in generally good health.  Usually donors can give blood every 56 days.

Please contact the DuBois Chapter at 371-2750 for more information.
