Phyllis M. Hertlein, 75 of Clearfield died on Friday at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born on Jan. 15, 1935 in Pottersdale, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Inez (Heichel) Hertlein. Ms. Hertlein served in the United States Air Force.
In 2004, she retired from the Clearfield Hospital Home Health. She was previously employed and served as a head nurse in the emergency room from 1962 – 2000 at the Clearfield Hospital. She also worked at the Maple Avenue Hospital in DuBois from 1956 – 1962.
She was a 1955 graduate of the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing. She was also the past president of the Professional Nursing Association.
She is survived by one brother, Richard L. Hertlein and his wife, Pam of Clearfield and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Terry Hertlein and one, sister, Myra Graham.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday, with the Rev. David B. Letscher officiating. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of the services at the church.
Military honors will be accorded at the church by the members of the Clearfield Legion and VFW Post Honor Guards.
