Nittany Lions to host open practice for season ticket holders Saturday

University Park, Pa. — For the fourth year in a row, Penn State men’s basketball season ticket holders (adult and student) will be able to enjoy an open practice/scrimmage with the Nittany Lions from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 23) in the South Gym of the Bryce Jordan Center.

It will be season ticket holder’s first opportunity to see freshmen newcomers Tre Bowman (York, Pa.), Taran Buie (Albany, N.Y.) and Jonathan Graham (Baltimore, Md.) and get a glimpse of the Lions’ preseason emphasis on full court pressure and faster paced offense. The Nittany Lions return 75 percent of their scoring from last season, led by four returning senior starters including two-time All-Big Ten point-guard Talor Battle (Albany, N.Y.)

Following the practice, fans are welcome to join the team in the Jordan Center Founder’s Room for pizza and refreshments, along with a few words from Coach Ed DeChellis and a player. Season ticket holders attending the event may park in the Jordan Center Founder’s lot on the east side of the arena. Entrance will be through the Founder’s entrance and the mezzanine hallway to access the South Gym.

Slots are also filling up quickly for the Fourth Annual THON Dodgeball Tournament sponsored by Nittany Lion basketball. This year’s tournament will be held Sunday, Oct. 31 at Penn State’s Multi-Sport Facility on campus. Only 20 slots remain for the popular student event with 108 teams already registered to compete.
