CLEARFIELD – For the first time in nearly three years, the Clearfield Borough Police Department has an assistant police chief. Clearfield Borough has been without a chief since Joe Zelenky retired roughly three years ago.
The borough began their search in September. On Thursday night, after an executive session for personnel matters, council member Fred Wisor stated that a candidate had been chosen to fill the position.
“We decided that Officer McGinnis would be our next assistant chief,” said Wisor.
Council took a roll call vote, with all members present voting in favor of the hire.
“I look forward to serving the community in this capacity,” said McGinnis.
McGinnis will officially start in his new position on Saturday.
