- Police were dispatched for a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of North Main and DuBois Streets at 7:16 p.m. Wednesday. A 2000 Toyota Sedan was stopped on North Main Street, waiting to turn left onto Quarry Avenue. At that time, a 2006 Dodge truck turned left onto North Main Street from DuBois Street and struck the Toyota Sedan. No injuries were reported as a result of the mishap.
- Police responded to an alarm call at the Dollar General Store on West Long Avenue on Wednesday. The building was determined to be secure.
- On Thursday, police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 100 block of East Weber Avenue. Officers reported that a Schwan’s truck had attempted to back into a space and struck a parked vehicle. No injuries were reported; neither vehicle needed towed from the scene.
- Police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of East DuBois Avenue for a property dispute. The DuBois woman who contacted police was found to have a warrant for her arrest through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department. Officers took the woman into custody and turned her over to the sheriff’s department.
- Police reported a two-vehicle accident at 3:50 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot located in the 300 block of DuBois Street. A 2007 Peterbilt tractor, which was pulling a trailer, backed into a 2004 Ford truck. No injuries were reported. The truck sustained minor damage; no damage was reported on the tractor.
- Police reported a two-vehicle accident at 3:58 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of South Main Street and Spring Avenue. A 2004 Honda Civic operated by a DuBois man was stopped on South Main Street, waiting to turn onto Spring Avenue. At that time, a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer operated by a DuBois woman struck the rear of the Honda Civic. No injuries were listed in the report. The Blazer was towed from the scene.
- On Thursday, police received a call about a man who was causing a scene at a business in the 300 block of Daly Street. An employee told police that she accidently cut in front of a man who was operating a black Dodge Ram while on her way to work. The truck’s operator reportedly followed her to work, where he began to scream at her before following her inside the business. The man was asked to leave and did so prior to police arrival.
- On Friday, police were called to the Dollar General Store on West Long Avenue for a reported incident of retail theft. A store employee told police that a white female who was approximately 30 years old entered the store and gathered several items off the shelves. She then allegedly told the clerk that her grandmother called in earlier and arranged for payment with another employee. The female suspect who was described as walking with a limp, left the store without paying for the items. The clerk then told police she contacted the other employee who said she received no such call. The incident is under investigation.
- Police responded to a call about a theft of a television from a residence in the 100 block of Luther Avenue on Friday. The television, which is valued at $600, was a 42-inch plasma screen and was taken sometime through the day. Officers have a suspect at this time.
- On Friday night, police were called to the city park for a report of children who were throwing garbage cans at the basketball hoops. Officers apprehended three juveniles, who were instructed to clean the mess that was caused by their actions. The Punxsutawney juveniles were released to a parent. All three were cited for disorderly conduct.
