Melanie Lois Johnston 33, of Durham, NC, and formerly of Clearfield, passed away on Sept. 27, 2010 at the Memorial Houston Hermann Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 19, 1976 in Pittsburgh, PA she was the daughter of Charles R. “Buzz” Jr. and Linda Ann (Buzzanca) Johnston. She was a 1994 graduate of Dubois Central Catholic High School and graduate of Pittsburgh University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She was Unitarian by faith. She was employed by Burt’s Bees Products as a Sales Representative. She was active in the Local Theatre in Durham, NC.
She is survived by her parents of Clearfield, one brother Charles R. Johnston III and his wife Sonya, and her twin sister Melinda Johnston all of Clearfield. Her Fiancée Lee Shadduck of Sykesville, PA, and a niece Hannah Garner of Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Clearfield on Oct. 15 from 4-8 p.m. Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family with Father Michael DeMartinis officiating.
