LOCK HAVEN – On Tuesday, October 26th, at 7 p.m., Lock Haven University’s Environmental Focus Group will be showing Gasland: A Documentary by Josh Fox. The film depicts filmmaker Josh Fox’s attempts to learn the truth about hydro-fracking after a gas company offered him a lease for his land in northeastern Pennsylvania.
First aired on HBO, Gasland is now in theatres and has drawn international attention: in August, Fox went to Iceland to receive the Lennon-Ono Grant for Peace. The film has been described as “Part verite travelogue, part expose, part mystery, part bluegrass banjo meltdown, part showdown.”
A moderated discussion will follow the film. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Ulmer Planetarium.
