Sue Paterno will be featured in the Give Big segment of "Big Ten Tailgate," which airs tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 8), on the Big Ten Network. The Give Big segments are designed to highlight members of Big Ten communities who display dedication, hard work and teamwork toward a higher goal in their communities. They focus on people who display genuine dedication and a long-lasting involvement with his or her cause. Penn State alumnus Bob McKinnon, a 1990 graduate in advertising and president of Yellowbrickroad Communications, led a crew that taped interviews with Paterno at the Nittany Lion Shrine, Rec Hall and the Pattee Library and Paterno Library.

Paterno has long been associated with Special Olympics and this past spring, on the day after the annual Blue-White Game, her determination helped make the first annual Special Olympics 5K at Penn State possible. The run ended on the 50-yard line in Beaver Stadium.

In its inaugural year, the Give Big feature will profile one person from each Big Ten school who, as members of their community, exhibit a genuine dedication, a long-lasting relationship and regular involvement with his or her cause. For more information and a listing of all who will be featured, visit http://www.btngivebig.com/ online.
