Police reported a single-vehicle accident at 2 a.m. Monday on Interstate 99 southbound at mile marker 61in Worth Township, Centre County. Kasandra E. Nielson, 19, of Gallitzin was traveling south, when her vehicle struck a deer. After the initial impact, her vehicle traveled to the right berm and came to a rest. Police were assisted at the scene by the Port Matilda Emergency Medical Services. Nielson and her passenger, Kelsi L. Bergmann, 22, of Duncansville were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the mishap. Both suffered minor injuries. Nielson’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
