DUBOIS – The following information is an update for PennDOT’s Hospital Avenue/Dixon Avenue realignment project in DuBois for the week of Oct. 4.

All work is weather dependent.

New traffic patterns remain in place on South Main Street. The contractor will continue working in the center lane on South Main Street. Traffic delays are expected. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. Workers will be placing the new concrete pavement. Motorists should be alert for changing traffic patterns on South Main Street between Grove Avenue and Dixon Avenue.

New traffic patterns will be in effect starting Oct. 7 as traffic is shifted onto the newly constructed center lane. New traffic patterns remain in place on Dixon Avenue. Dixon Avenue will continue to be restricted to one lane between Smithfield Street and Hospital Avenue. Dixon Avenue will be one way until further notice. Traffic will only be able to travel from Smithfield Street to Hospital Avenue. All other traffic will need to follow the signed detour.

The contractor will continue earthwork and placement of storm-water, drainage pipe on Dixon Avenue in the closed lane. Motorists are advised to watch for slow moving and stopped vehicles through the entire work zone. The overall project will re-align Hospital Avenue with Dixon Avenue. Work includes roadway widening, new traffic signals, and improved access to DRMC. The job is scheduled to run through late November of this year. SET, Inc. of Lowellville, Ohio, is the contractor on the $4.2 million project.
