CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors has narrowed its superintendent search to two candidates.

In a press release, Interim Superintendent Dr. J. Thomas Frantz said 22 applications were received for the position. Those were initially screened to only six applications.

“And, (after) two rounds of interviews, the field has been narrowed to two final candidates,” Frantz said. He said those two candidates will visit Clearfield on Tuesday.

During their visit, Frantz said the candidates will visit the schools and meet with both the staff and administration. He said each candidate will also have a designated time to meet with parents and members of the school community.

Frantz noted that it would give the candidates an opportunity to share their thoughts while also addressing any questions. He said the community meetings have been scheduled as follows:

On Tuesday, he said “Candidate A” will be available from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. “Candidate B” follows from 4:45 to 5:15 p.m. Both will be in the auditorium at the Clearfield Middle School.

“The selection of a new superintendent is a very important process, one that will affect the education of our students, the employees of our district and the future of our school community,” Frantz said.

Frantz encouraged school and community members to attend the meetings on Tuesday.
