Clean-up Set for ‘National Public Lands Day’ on Sept. 25 at Sinnemahoning State Park

The following programs will be offered at the Sinnemahoning State Park on Saturday, Sept. 25.

1 – 4 p.m. – National Public Lands Day

The Sinnemahoning State Park’s ranger and maintenance staff welcome patrons for an afternoon lake clean-up. The last several seasons have deposited old tires in the lake and along the shores, and the staff needs help in order to remove them.

Volunteers will climb aboard the park’s pontoon boat, armed with hooks and ropes, to pull the tires from the water and shoreline. They will haul them back to the launch area, where the maintenance staff can pick them up for recycling.

Gloves are recommended for all of those who take part in the effort. Come prepared to get wet. Patrons should meet the staff at the Boat Launch area at the park. Please call the park at 814-647-8401 to register for the clean-up.

If you need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, please contact the Pennsylvania Bureau of State Parks: (888) PA-PARKS (voice), (888) 537-7294 (TTY), (717) 558-2711 (local or international TTY), (800) 654-5984 (PA AT&T Relay Service).  With at least three days notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs.  For more information visit our web site at www.dcnr.state.pa.us.
