Vivian Jean (Lippert) Bressler 82 passed away at Christ the King Manor in Dubois on Sept. 11, 2010.

Born Aug. 30, 1928 she was the daughter of Clarence and Verda (Dickey) Lippert.  She was a graduate of Curwensville Area High School.

In 1948 she married Willis “Woody” Bressler, who preceded her in death in 2008 and to whom she was married for sixty years. Together they had five children all who are left to cherish her memory. Surviving her are children Elwood Bressler and his wife Andrea of Curwensville, Les Bressler and his partner Karen Purvis of Waterville, PA, Wendy Baranak and her husband Matt of Smithfield, VA, Larrie Bressler of Curwensville and Lance Bressler and his wife Beth of Curwensville. She is survived by her grandchildren Mary Leigh Sellers, Brad Bressler, Ashley Bressler, Terry Bressler ,  Chase Baranak, Hannah Bressler and Sam Bressler, along with adopted grandson Ben Rinehart and 11 great grandchildren. And a sister Martha Smith of FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Bill, Dick, Larry, and Boyd Lippert and a sister Faye Selfridge. A grandson Shawn Bressler.

In the earlier years Vivian was an avid bowler who belonged to several leagues in the area and was involved in many bowling tournaments with winning results. She was also one of the founding members of the now popular “Bunko” in this area. Nearly 50 years ago she and some friends started a Bunko Club and held parties at each other’s homes.

She was a big supporter of her children in both their athletic and academic endeavors. She attended every Little League game, football game, baseball game, wrestling match and gym show in which her children participated throughout their high school and college years. When she was able, she attended the games of her grandchildren as well.

After all her children were in school, Vivian went to work outside the home. She worked at  Shortway, Inc in Clearfield and then retired from Clearfield Cheese Company in Curwensville.

She loved the outdoors and camping. Upon retirement she and her husband bought an RV and camped throughout the United States and Canada. One summer they traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast of the United States. They also built their dream home in the mountains where she enjoyed nothing more than planting flowers, feeding hummingbirds, picking blueberries, trying new recipes, and cooking a hotdog over an open campfire. She loved having her children and grandchildren come during the holidays so she could cook and bake her now famous pumpkin roll. If one of her children couldn’t be home for the holiday, she would bake and mail them her pumpkin roll.

Throughout her lifetime, Vivian was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

A public memorial service will be held at the Curwensville Presbyterian Church in Curwensville on Sept. 16 at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor George Solley officiating. Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
