CLEARFIELD – The Garden Group of the Clearfield Center for Active Living invites area residents to join them for informative meetings about gardening and associated topic areas.
The new session is set to begin Thursday with speaker, Rick Kralj of the Brookville office of Penn State Cooperative Extension.
Meetings planned include bee keeping, landscaping, gardening from scratch, garden pests and Thursday’s topic, “Home Food Preservation.”
At 6 p.m. Thursday, Mr. Kralj, who is an extension educator, will focus on various techniques of home canning, freezing and other methods of food preservation in the home.
The meeting will be held at the Clearfield Campus of Lock Haven University in room 003 of the main building. The University is located at 201 University Drive on United States Route 322 west outside of Clearfield.
In October, John Hallam will speak on “Starting a Bee Colony” and the benefits, including garden pollination derived from bee-keeping. The meeting will be held Wednesday, Oct. 20 and will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the new Clearfield campus building of Lock Haven, in room A123.
