Police Report: Lawrence Township

– Police responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Butler Road. Officers spoke to the owner of the vehicles who already had arrangements for them to be moved.

– Police responded to requested ambulance assistance in order for them to gain entry into a residence to assist a fall victim.

 Police received a report about a vehicle that was parked on Mapes Street and had created a traffic hazard. Officers contacted its owner who moved the vehicle.

– Police responded to a traffic complaint for a reckless driver. Officers said the vehicle was gone at their arrival. They searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Police are currently investigating an incident of criminal trespass an attempted break-in on Turnpike Avenue. Last night, two male juveniles were observed attempting to gain entry to an empty residence. Officers have obtained their descriptions; the investigating is ongoing.

– Police are currently investigating an incident of access device fraud. A Homer City man told police that he had his access card fraudulently used after completing a transaction at a local business. Officers have a person of interest; the investigation is ongoing.

 – Police received a report of an incident of theft from a motor vehicle. An area woman reported that her purse was stolen from her vehicle. It was later located and had only been misplaced.

– Police are currently investigating a second incident of access device fraud. An area woman had received a pay stub, indicating that her check had been deposited into her account. Later, she reportedly discovered that the money was not in the account. After contacting the parent company and banking institution, she found it to be a computer error; the victim will be compensated.

– Police received a report about a traffic violation that occurred on state Route 879. The vehicle was gone at police arrival. However, police were provided with a plate number; the investigation is continuing.

– Police received a call from a female who is living in Virginia. Her call related with a civil issue and property.

– Police are investigating a tip about an ongoing hit-and-run case. The investigation is ongoing; charges are currently pending.

– Police returned a wallet to a township resident. It was found by a Woodland woman and turned over to police.

– Police received a report of a stolen or abandoned motorcycle. The vehicle was determined to be broken down.

– Police responded to a burglar alarm at a local business. At arrival, officers checked the interior and exterior of the building; they found everything to be OK.

– Police responded to a vehicle fire on Coal Hill Road. Officers advised the vehicle was in motion and fully-engulfed at arrival. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
