Ralph R. Fye of Clearfield and formerly of Karthaus, passed away on Aug. 28, 2010 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Clearfield, PA.
Mr. Fye was born on July 13, 1917 in Moshannon Township, Clearfield County, PA. He was the son of John Albert and Minnie Violet Pearl (Borger) Fye.
He was a self employed coal miner for over thirty years. He had been a former member of the Karthaus Fire Company.
Mr. Fye was affiliated with the Shepherd of The Hills Lutheran Church in Karthaus.
He is survived by two daughters: Barbara J. Lindemyer of Taylor MI, and Marva L. Hillard of Bellfonte, PA: six grandchildren, Robin L. Hillard, Donna K. Davidheiser, Pamela D. Byron, Sandra D. Tressler, Cindy L. Hagerman, Donald R. Hillard, Jr.; thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Fern Carey of Moshannon, PA and a brother, Lewis Fye of Clarence, PA.
Mr. Fye is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean E. (Potter) whom he married on August 23, 1941 and who died on August 18, 2002; one grandson, Robin L. Hillard, Jr.; one granddaughter, Penny Hillard; six sisters and four brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sept. 2 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield, PA with Rev. Matthew Finney officiating. Interment will in the Keewaydin Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sept. 2 at 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the services.
