Obituary Notice: James R. Coder

James R. Coder, 73 of Clearfield died on Aug. 28, 2010 at Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on July 12, 1937 in Clearfield, a son of Catherine (Sharp) Coder, Clearfield and the late Ernest V. Coder.

Mr. Coder was employed with Novey’s Junk Yard, Clearfield for 18 years.  Prior to that, he was employed by Bender’s Sanitation, Clearfield.  He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield and was formerly a member of the Clearfield Sons of Italy Lodge No. 189.

He is survived by his wife Margaret (Powell) Coder whom he wed on July 16, 1960 at the Centre Grove United Methodist Church, Hyde,

Sixteen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren,

Three sisters and a brother:

      Sylvia Knepp and husband Leo                              Woodland

      Kenneth V. Coder and wife Charlene                   Clearfield 

And several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son James Coder, and a sister and brother Florence Haag and Ernest E. Coder. 

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Dr. Duane A. White officiating.  Interment will follow in the Owens Cemetery, Clearfield. 

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of services.
