PINE TOWNSHIP – An accident on Interstate 80 claimed the life of one person and left seven others with injuries.
According to the state police in Clearfield, a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country van was traveling east in the left lane at around 1:10 p.m. on Monday. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which struck the center median and overturned multiple times.
Police said one person passed away at the scene. Four people were airlifted by STAT MedEvac due to severe injuries; three others were taken to Clearfield Hospital for treatment.
The state police were assisted at the scene by the Lawrence Township Fire Department, Clearfield Emergency Medical Services and Andy Ross Towing.
Police did not release the names of those involved in the accident but indicated that information will be released periodically when it becomes available.
