CLEARFIELD – PennDOT District 2 will start a project later this month with the goal of increasing lane edge visibility for motorists. New snowplowable pavement markers will be installed on various routes, including Interstate 80, across eight counties in District 2.
Work will begin Aug. 23, to place the markers.
The markers alert motorists of travel lane edges through the use of reflectors. The snowplowable markers resist breakage if they are struck by a snowplow’s blade.
Work in District 2 will include routes in the following counties: Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Juniata, McKean and Mifflin.
The contractor on the $280,000 project is Green Acres Contracting of Scottdale. Work is expected to be complete by late November.
